Healthcare IT Talks
Podcast exploring emerging technologies and industry trends across enterprise imaging through conversations with thought leaders in the space
The Story.
The Why
In the spring of 2020, the world experienced an unprecedented shutdown due to a global pandemic. While many people unplugged from work and took up hobbies like baking sourdough, healthcare workers were busier than ever, dedicated to saving lives. During this period, podcast usage surged—up 70% from 2019, with 75% of the population familiar with podcasts and 37% tuning in monthly. As podcast popularity continued to rise, I saw an opportunity to engage the tech-savvy healthcare audience in a format that worked for them, even during challenging times.
This led to the creation of the Healthcare IT Talks podcast—an easily accessible and informative series designed to fit into the busy lives of healthcare professionals. Whether on a commute, in the shower, or while cooking dinner, the podcast offered healthcare workers a convenient way to stay informed.
The Result
I enlisted Brian Green, our Healthcare IT expert, to host the show, and we set off interviewing thought leaders in healthcare technology. Covering the latest trends, news, and innovations, the podcast took a conversational yet educational approach that quickly resonated with the audience. Within its first two years, the podcast amassed over 10,000 streams and 3,000+ subscribers across platforms like Apple, Spotify, and Google.
The Impact
Healthcare IT Talks became a trusted source of information for CIOs, CTOs, IT directors, hospital management, and more. The podcast not only solidified Brian Green's reputation as an industry thought leader but also evolved into a key revenue stream for GE HealthCare's marketing funnel. Its success demonstrated the power of adapting marketing strategies to meet the needs of an audience where and when they’re most engaged.
